What I shoot with.
People ask me this constantly, so here it's. The RED is the Z mount V-Raptor, so Nikon Z glass goes straight on it and the Megadap puts my Sony E lenses on the same body. That's how a 600 GM ends up on a cinema camera. Stills are the a7R V, video is the RED, and most of the glass works on both.
As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. It costs you nothing extra, and nothing here is on this page because somebody paid for it. I own and use all of it.

Support
- Sachtler aktiv8T with flowtech 75 legs the real sticks, for long lens work that has to stay smooth
- DJI RS 4 Pro Combo carries the stills camera when it turns into a video camera
- Peak Design Travel Tripod, carbon fibre packs down small enough that I actually bring it

- Glidecam Devin Graham Signature Series from the man, the myth, the legend. He gave me mine
Air
- DJI Mini 3 Fly More Combo because everyone needs a drone
Audio
- Sennheiser MKE 600 shotgun mic on the camera, for everything the lavs can't reach

- Sony NP-FZ100 battery for the a7R V, and you want more of them than you think
Cards
- Angelbird AV PRO CFexpress Type B, RED approved what the RED records to. RED approved media, not worth improvising on
Storage
Storage is the part nobody plans for. Ten blades across two stations, plus the big drive, and I still run out.
- SanDisk Professional PRO-Blade SSD Mag, 4TB the whole shoot comes home on blades
- SanDisk Professional PRO-Blade Transport, 4TB the reader the blades slot into
- SanDisk Professional PRO-Blade Station four blades at once on the desk. I run two of them
- LaCie Rugged SSD, 500GB the fast one, small, lives in the pack and gets rained on
- LaCie Rugged, 4TB spinning disk the slow one, cheap bulk, survives being thrown in a bag
- SanDisk Professional G-Drive, 24TB where it all lands when I get home
Post
- MacBook Pro 16", M5 Pro where everything gets cut and graded
Bags and cases
- Nomatic McKinnon Camera Backpack, 35L what the kit travels in
- f-stop Tilopa with Pro Large ICU the one that goes up the mountain
- Pelican Air 1615 Travel Case what the kit flies in, overseas and around the world
- Pelican Air 1535 Travel Case the carry on, so the bodies never leave my hands
Where I started
- Sony FX6 my first cinema camera. I don't shoot it any more, but it's where this started
- Atomos Ninja monitor recorder recorded ProRes off the FX6, back when that was the way to do it
- Laowa 24mm f/14 2x Macro Probe my first probe. The X-Tract replaced it, but this is the one that showed me what macro on video could be
